Theatre & Dance Summer Schools - August 2010
Two fun weeks were had by all! Dance, drama, singing, musical theatre, hair and make-up to name a few of the workshops. Thank you to all RJL teachers and guest teachers for making the week so enjoyable. Also well done to all the children for working so hard! Hazel Grove Carnival Demonstration - Saturday 10th July 2010 Another great year at the carnival. Costumes looked fab, and dance demonstrations were very strong and clean. A huge congratulations to everyone who took part! IDTA Examinations - Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th June 2010
Well done to everyone who took their exam/s! 100% pass rate once again with fantastic high marks. RJL teachers are so proud of all their students who worked very hard!! Drama & Musical Theatre Show - Sunday 25th April 2010.
Another great performance from our Drama classes. The students from the new Musical Theatre class should be really proud of themselves for their first theatre performance, it was superb! Well done and thank you to Miss Lara for putting the whole thing together! RAD Ballet Examinations - Saturday 6th March 2010.
Well done to everyone who took their Ballet examinations. You have work really hard practicing for these examinations, and should all be very proud of yourselves! Results have arrived and are fantastic... especially the Primary class who achieved 1 merit, and 11 distinctions! Amelia McAndrew scored extremely high with 92%, very well done! Theatre and Dance Summer Schools - Monday 27th July - Friday 31st July 09. Ages 10-16yrs & Monday 3rd August - Wednesday 5th August. Ages 6-9yrs Both weeks ran extremely well. The new week added this year for 6-9 year olds was a great success, and a pleasure to teach at. 'Grease', 'Bugsey Malone', and 'The Little Mermaid' were just a few of the musicals and movies that the students danced, sang and acted out to. Thank you to our schools teachers, and the guest teachers for such fun workshops! IDTA Medal Examinations - Saturday 4th July 09 @ Bramhall Recreation Centre Sunday 12th July 09 @ St. Peter's Parish Centre 100% rate once again! With the majority of the school gaining one of the top 2 award bands; 'Honours' and 'Highly Commended'! Well done everybody for all your hard work which payed off!! Hazel Grove Carnival - Saturday 11th July 09 A fantastic day was had by all. Great costumes, fun parade, and fabulous demonstrations by all our groups! Everyone had lots of fun... well done! Drama Production - Sunday 28th June 09 @ Stockport College Theatre A huge well done to all our Drama students who performed their first Drama theatre production of 'The Naughty Teddy Bear & We're All in This Together'. The whole cast was so excited back stage before they performed, and asked as soon as they had finished; 'what are we doing for the next show?'! Sunday 1st February 09 - 'Feel The Beat' Production FANTASTIC!! Once again our school show was held at the Plaza Theatre in Stockport, congratulations to all the stars of the show! Thank you for all the hard work you put in.. well done everybody! Monday 28th July - Friday 1st August 08 Theatre & Dance Summer School Another great summer school for the 3rd year running. Once again it was fully booked, and the children enjoyed a wide variety of dancing, singing and acting, as well as a 'RJL's got talent' showcase. Saturday 19th July 08 - Hazel Grove Carnival A rainy but fun day at the Carnival this year! The Moulin Rouge costumes looked fantastic and we won first placed in the fancy dress catagory!! All the dancers looked great and many members of the public commented on how good the demonstration was. The boys Hip-Hop once again got one of the biggest cheers... keep up the good work everyone and well done!!! Saturday 5th July 08 - St Peter's Summer Funday A great demonstration from all the Street Jazz, Hip-Hop and Cheerleading groups that performed at St. Peter's. It really was a summer 'Funday'! Saturday 21st July 08 - RAD Ballet Examinations Congratulations to all the students who took their first Ballet examinations. Everybody put in many hours of hard work, the Pre-Primarys received a certificate off the examiner 'Miss Quinn' on the day. The Primary and above grades results arrived in August and we had a 100% pass rate! Congratulations to Michelle Crocker and Claire Tomkinson, who received 'Distinctions' for Grade 4! Saturday 19th April 2008 - IDTA Examinations 100% PASS RATE! Well done to everybody who took their Tap, Modern, and Street Jazz examinations. You all worked so hard and should be really proud of yourselves! Everybody came out of their exams with big smiles and excitment which was great to see. Especially well done to Xander and Millie who were the youngest students to take their Tap Rosette exam, at just 4 years old! (its a good job Miss Becky was allowed in the room to help!). The results have arrived and are fantastic.. the majority of the school gained top marks 'Honours', and 'Highly Commended'! For many students this was the first dance exam they had ever taken. Well Done again to you all! 20th December 2007 - Pantomime The drama group put on their first performance after just one term of the class starting. 'Rhyming Alladin - A lad in Verse' was a great success. The children had a lot of fun after working really hard for the last 8 weeks. Well done to you all, and a huge well done to Miss Lara!! Saturday 14th July 2007 - Hazel Grove Carnival We were unable to perform our dance demonstration this year due to a water logged field! On a more positive note, the rain did hold off during the day and the parade was able to go ahead! The colour co-ordinated 'fame' themed outfits looked great, thank you to everyone for putting in so much effort. Monday 30th July - Friday 3rd August 2007 - Theatre & Dance Summer School. This was the school's second year of running a summer school week, and was another great success! Many guest teachers taught a variety of styles new to our students including: Flamenco, 'new style' Hip-Hop, speech workshops and 'Stomp' Tap to name a few. The students put in 100% effort and enthusiasm to every class, which resulted in them all having so much fun - well done and see you all next year! Saturday 24th March 2007 - 'Show Stoppers 2007'
Congratulations to everybody who performed in our school show, which was held at the Plaza Theatre in Stockport. You were fantastic!! Thank you all for working so hard, I'm sure you'll agree it was worth it!! 14th -18th August 2006 Teen Theatre and Dance Summer School A excellent week was had by all the students who were able to try out many different dance styles. Singing, Drama and Musical Theatre were also on the timetable and provided great fun! Photos are available to view in our gallery. 15th July 2006 Hazel Grove Carnival Well Done to all the performers who took part in the parade and the dance demonstration in the park. It was so hot and there were many tired feet by the end of the day! We won first place in the best dressed organisation catagory, you all looked amazing. Congratulations to the Junior Street Class, most of the children performed in front an audience for the first time and were fantastic!
